5/23/13
On May 22nd at 3pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Nickie Calathopulos, 55, and Nicholas Depasquale Jr., 25, both of Audobon, NJ on drug charges.
Detectives were in the parking lot of the Wawa on West Bay Avenue when they observed Calathopulos counting a quantity of oxycodone pills inside of his vehicle. An investigation resulted in the recovery of a quantity of oxycodone pills as well as several hundred dollars in US currency.
Depasquale Jr. was charged with possession of oxycodone and possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute (both 3rd degree). He was processed and released pending a court date.
Calathopulos was charged with possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute and distribution of oxycodone (both 3rd degree). He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $30,000 bail.

On May 17th at 2pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Michael McDaid, 40, and Lynne Tarvin, 51, both of Ridgewood, NJ on drug related charges.
Detectives were in the parking lot of the Georgetown Plaza on Route 9 when they observed McDaid and Tarvin inside of a vehicle preparing to inject themselves with heroin. The detectives interceded and recovered a quantity of heroin, hypodermic syringes, and crack pipes.
Tarvin was charged with 3rd degree possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe. She was processed and released pending a court date.
McDaid was charged with 3rd degree possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also found to have a $250 warrant out of Cranford and a no bail warrant out of the Passaic County Sheriff's Department. He was processed and turned over to the Passaic County Sheriff's Department.

On May 10th at 10:34pm, Patrolman Nicholas Venuto arrested Vijay Reddy, 31, of Midland Park for DWI after responding to the area of Route 72 and Route 539 for a report of an intoxicated driver.
Upon arrival, Ptl. Venuto found that Reddy had been blocked from moving his vehicle further by a concerned motorist. Reddy was observed slumped over in the front seat of the vehicle.
Reddy's vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's Law. He was arrested, processed, and released pending a court date with summonses for DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and failure to wear a seat belt.

On May 7th at 12am, Patrolman Robert Armstrong arrested Richard Robins Jr., 40, of Barnegat after responding to the Wawa on West Bay Ave for a report of a shoplifter.
Upon arrival, Ptl. Armstrong observed a vehicle leaving the parking lot that matched the description provided by Wawa employees. Ptl. Armstrong stopped the vehicle and made contact with Robins Jr who was determined to have taken a Snickers ice cream bar from the establishment without paying for it. During the course of the investigation, Robins Jr was also found to be in possession of Oxycontin tablets which were not prescribed to him. He further was found to have an outstanding $500 warrant out of Atlantic City for shoplifting.
Robins Jr. was charged with shoplifting and possession of CDS. He was processed and released after posting bail.

On April 29th at 11pm, Patrolman Robert Armstrong arrested Julie Macauley, 46, of Tuckerton for DWI after observing Macauley's vehicle on the northbound shoulder of Route 9 with the front end resting against a telephone pole.
Ptl. Armstrong approached the vehicle and observed Macauley to be asleep and to still have the vehicle in drive. Ptl. Armstrong was able to wake Macauley and directed her to put the vehicle in park. Macauley was placed under arrest and her vehicle towed and impounded in accordance with John's Law. The vehicle sustained minor front end damage.
Macauley was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.

On April 25th at 11:30pm, Ptl. Timothy Bradshaw arrested Paul Killelea, 55, of Lakewood for DWI after stopping his vehicle on West Bay Avenue near the Parkway entrance for failing to maintain lane of travel.
Killelea's vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's Law. He was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane of travel.

4/24/13
On April 23rd at 12pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Joseph Cook, 27, and Brooke Cook, 28, of Barnegat after responding to a report of a drug overdose at the Barnegat Motel.
Officers arrived at the motel in response to a report that a female subject had overdosed on heroin. Their on scene investigation revealed that both Joseph and Brook were in possession of and had ingested heroin.
Joseph was charged with 3rd degree possession of heroin and was processed and released pending a court date.
Brooke was charged with 3rd degree possession of heroin and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for medical treatment.

On April 19th at 2:00pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Edward Beaton, 44, of Manahawkin and Merredith Rowe, 32, of Manahawkin on multiple drug charges.
Narcotics Unit Detectives observed Beaton and Rowe seated in a parked car in the parking lot of the Wawa on West Bay Avenue. Moments later, they observed Beaton distribute a quantity of heroin to Rowe.
Beaton was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, and distribution of heroin (all 3rd degree).
Rowe was charged with possession of heroin (3rd degree) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both subjects were processed and released pending a court date.

On April 13th at 1:30am, Patrolman Robert Armstrong arrested Samantha Pinto, 21, of Barnegat for DWI after Pinto crashed into Armstrong's patrol vehicle.
Ptl. Armstrong was conducting a motor vehicle stop on Barnegat Blvd near West Bay Avenue and was outside of his vehicle when it was struck from behind by Pinto who was driving south on Barnegat Blvd.
Ptl. Armstrong's K9 partner bullet was in the patrol vehicle when it was struck, however, he was uninjured.
Pinto, who was also uninjured, was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, failure to move over (change lanes) for a stationary emergency vehicle, and use of a cell phone in a moving motor vehicle. Her vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's Law.
4/8/13
On April 8th at 2:40PM Barnegat Police responded to a serious multi-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of West Bay Ave and Barnegat Blvd. The accident was discovered by Barnegat Patrolman Christopher Ebert who was on patrol in the area and responded to investigate when he heard the collision from his patrol vehicle.
Initial responding officers were assisted by off-duty Barnegat Patrolman Edward Hayes and off-duty Stafford Police Officer Christopher Smith, both of whom were in personal vehicles at the accident location and responded immediately to offer assistance.
The investigation showed that a 2010 Honda Accord operated by Robert Nowicki, 77, of Toms River was eastbound on West Bay Avenue when it drove into the back of a stopped 2006 Ford Taurus operated by Sheena Longland, 26, of Barnegat.
Longland's vehicle, which was stopped at the red light, was forced into the back of a 2003 Ford E350 box truck operated by Charles Antonozzi, 71, of Barnegat. Antonozzi's vehicle was subsequently forced into a 2000 Ford Winstar operated by Arkadiusz Zdiarski, 23, of Jackson.
Arriving officers found multiple injured victims. Sheena Longland and her 4 year old son, Aiden, were found entrapped in her vehicle. Aiden, who was in a car seat, was extricated from the vehicle by off-duty Officer Smith of Stafford PD. Sheena was extricated by the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company. Front seat passenger Marie Germer, 74, of Barnegat was also removed from the vehicle and treated.
A landing zone was established at the First Street Park where MONOC and New Jersey State Police Southstar medevac helicopters landed to transport victims.
Sheena Longland was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center by MONOC medevac helicopter with a broken arm and possible internal injuries.
Aiden Longland was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center by New Jersey State Police Southstar helicopter with multiple leg fractures.
Marie Germer was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center by Quality Medical ambulance with facial lacerations and possible internal injuries.
Nowicki was transported by Quality Medical ambulance to Southern Ocean Medical Center with chest pain.
The remaining subjects were either uninjured or had minor injuries.
The accident is being investigated by the Barnegat Police Traffic Safety Unit. Preliminary indications are that Nowicki suffered a medical episode while driving which led to the accident.
Multiple lanes were closed on West Bay Avenue in the area of the accident for approximately two hours while the investigation was conducted.

On April 2nd at 2:06pm, Officer Lauren Keilitz arrested James Louisy, 30, of Brooklyn, NY for fraudulent use of credit card after responding to Barnegat Wine and Spirits for a report of a subject possibly using a stolen credit card.
Upon arrival, Officer Keilitz spoke with an employee of Barnegat Wine and Liquor who recognized Louisy from a previously viewed surveillance video related to a fraudulent credit card purchase made at the store on March 15th.
After an investigation and interview of Louisy at the scene Officer Keilitz's discovered that Louisy had made numerous stops at area liquor stores and had purchased alcohol with numerous fraudulent credit cards that he possessed.
A consent search of Louisy's vehicle resulted in the seizure of 68 unopened bottled of alcohol valued at $2,820.
Louisy was charged with fraudulent use of credit cards and was processed and released pending a court date.

On March 31st at 1:48am, Patrolman Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Daniel Desousa, 19, of Forked River for DWI after stopping his vehicle on Route 9 near the Waretown border after he crossed over the center line of the roadway and entered Ptl. Dapuzzo's lane of travel.
Desousa's car was impounded in accordance with John's Law. He was processed and released with summonses for DWI, DWI under 21 years of age, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to exhibit registration, and failure to exhibit insurance.

On March 17th at 10:20pm, Patrolman Alex Hoffman arrested Melissa Oldham, 26, of Manahawkin for DWI after responding to a one car motor vehicle accident on Beverly Drive.
Upon arrival, Ptl. Hoffman found that Oldham's vehicle had left the roadway and traversed the lawns of three different properties before striking two parked vehicles in the driveway of a Beverly Drive residence.
Oldham was placed under arrest after an on scene investigation revealed that she was under the influence.
Oldham's vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's Law. She was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane of travel.

On March 11th at 1:27am, Ptl. Robert Armstrong arrested Joseph Blasko, 24, of Barnegat for DWI after stopping Blasko's vehicle in the area of Atlantic Heights for failing to maintain lane of travel.
Blasko's vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's Law. Blasko was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and unlicensed driver.
3/11/13
On March 6th at 2:00am, Patrolman Michael Diblasi arrested Wendy Tucker, 56, of Barnegat on a no bail warrant and also charged her with lewdness after responding to a report of Tucker exposing herself to a Lexington Blvd surveillance camera.
Ptl. Diblasi responded to the area after Barnegat Police dispatchers observed a female later identified as Tucker exit her vehicle in the middle of Lexington Blvd and engage in lewd behavior while facing several Lexington Blvd security cameras. Tucker initially exited her vehicle and can be seen looking up at the cameras while extending her middle fingers to the camera. Tucker then goes on to pull up her shirt and bra, exposing her breasts.
Ptl. Diblasi was able to locate the vehicle parked in front of a Lexington Blvd address and made contact with Tucker at that time.
Tucker was arrested on the strength of a no-bail warrant out of the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department. She was additionally charged with lewdness.
Tucker was lodged in the Atlantic County Jail in default of bail.

On February 26th at 3:22pm, Ptl. Nicholas Venuto arrested Kathryn Magee, 22, of Barnegat for DWI after responding to a one car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 9 and Gunning River Road.
Upon his arrival to the scene, Ptl. Venuto found that Magee's 1997 Acura had left the roadway while traveling northbound and struck a utility pole. Upon further investigation, Ptl. Venuto determined that Magee was under the influence of alcohol.
Magee was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries. During her treatment, Magee assaulted three of the hospital staff members resulting in Magee being charged with three counts of aggravated assault.
Magee was also issued summonses for DWI and failure to maintain lane.
3/4/13
On March 4th at 6:30am, officers responded to a multi-car motor vehicle accident on Route 9 in the area of Cedar St.
A 2012 Dodge Journey operated by Katrina Beamon, 45, of Bronx, NY was traveling northbound when it left its lane of travel and struck a southbound 1998 Buick LeSabre operated by Debra Foley, 56, of Waretown.
The head on collision caused Beaman's vehicle to overturn and Foley's vehicle to leave the roadway and come to rest on the front lawn of 423 North Main Street.
Foley was entrapped in the Buick and was extricated by Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11.
Beamon and her passenger (Anthony Hardy, 40, Queens, NY) were transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center by Quality Medical Transport with minor injuries.
Emergency personnel established an emergency landing zone behind the Elizabeth V. Edwards school on Route 9 where a MONOC medevac helicopter landed in order to airlift Foley to Atlantic City Medical Center for serious leg injuries. Birdsall Street was closed to through traffic during the helicopter's landing and departure.
Beamon was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane of travel.
Route 9 was closed in both directions for approximately 1 hour while emergency personnel were investigating the accident and treating the victims. Birdsall Street was closed to through traffic during the helicopter's landing and departure.

On February 27th at 5:00pm, Ptl. Richard Carr arrested Nicholas Tampone, 21, of Manahawkin for DWI after responding to a report of a male subject sleeping inside of a vehicle in the parking lot of Barnegat Village Square on West Bay Ave.
Ptl. Carr located the vehicle in the parking lot and found Tampone sleeping inside of the vehicle which was parked with the engine running. Ptl. Carr determined that Tampone was waiting for a friend who was inside Barnegat Wine and Spirits purchasing alcohol. He further determined that Tampone was impaired due to alcohol.
Tampone's vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's law and Tampone was processed and released with summonses for DWI and reckless driving.
2/28/13
On February 28th Detective Maryann Cirulli charged Joseph Cornellier, 46, of Tuckerton with failing to register as a contractor (4th degree).
Detective Cirulli was investigating a dispute concerning the alleged failure of Cornellier to provide goods and services for which he had been paid, including the repair of damages to a Barnegat residence. The original dispute was reported to the police department on January 14th.
While Detective Cirulli was conducting the investigation, Cornellier and the victim resolved the dispute, however, Cirulli had already determined that Cornellier had failed to register with the New Jersey Department of Consumer Repairs as a home improvement contractor in violation of state law.
Cornellier was processed and released pending a court date.
2/26/13
On February 21st at 8:54am, Ptl. James O'Hearn arrested Keith Carson, 47, of Long Beach Twp for DWI after responding to the Wawa on Route 9 in response to a report of an intoxicated individual attempting to drive away from the location.
A concerned citizen called to report that Carson appeared to be stumbling while inside of the Wawa and was then seen fumbling to get the keys into the ignition of his vehicle.
Ptl. O'Hearn responded to the area and was able to stop Carson's vehicle before he was able to leave the Wawa parking lot and enter traffic.
Carson's vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's law.
Carson was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for evaluation and treatment due to the level of his impairment.
He was treated and released from SOMC at which time he was processed at Barnegat Police headquarters before being released with summonses for DWI and reckless driving.

On February 16th at 1:42am, Ptl. Joseph Stanziano arrested Kirk Biddar, 45, of Barnegat for DWI after stopping Biddar's vehicle on Bayshore Dr for failing to maintain lane of travel.
Biddar's car was impounded in accordance with John's Law and he was processed and released after being issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving, refusal to submit to breath test, and failure to maintain lane.
2/20/13
On February 15th at 6:30pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Franklin Biddar Jr., 47, of Little Egg Harbor on drug charges and David McIntyre, 44, of Waretown on drug charges and outstanding warrants.
The officers observed Biddar smoking hashish in the parking lot behind the Spirits Liquor Store and Bar on Route 9. While the officers were arresting Biddar, McIntyre attempted to intervene in the contact. McIntyre was found to have two warrants out of Barnegat including a no bail warrant.
McIntyre was placed under arrest and was also found to be in possession of marijuana.
Biddar was charged with possession of hashish under 50 grams and possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was processed and released on his own recognizance.
McIntyre was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of the no bail warrant.
2/14/13
On Feburary 8th at 6:45pm, Patrolman Jim Purcell arrested Barbara Schmidt, 49, of Langhorne, PA for DWI after responding to the area of Route 72 and Route 539 for multiple reports of an erratic driver who was possibly intoxicated.
Upon arrival to the area, Ptl. Purcell observed Schmidt's vehicle with a line of traffic behind it on Route 72. Schmidt's vehicle at that time was traveling east bound at approximately 8 miles per hour.
After stopping Schmidt's vehicle and conducting field sobriety tests, Ptl. Purcell placed Schmidt under arrest for DWI.
She was processed and released after being issued summonses for DWI, Refusal to submit to breath tests, failure to use headlights, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

On February 6th at 9pm, Patrolman Robert Armstrong arrested Robin Varner, 45, of Barnegat for DWI after responding to East Bay Avenue and Lowershore Rd for a report of downed utility wires.
Upon arrival, Ptl. Armstrong was advised by a witness that Varner had crashed her vehicle into a utility pole and was now waiting in the witness's residence in order to keep warm.
Ptl Armstrong made contact with Varner and after conducting field sobriety tests placed her under arrest for DWI.
Varner was processed and released after being issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
2/13/13
On February 11th at 5:00am, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Anthony Fattaruso, 28, of Barnegat for DWI.
The police department was contacted by a concerned citizen who saw Fattaruso stumbling in the Wawa located on West Bay Avenue and believed him to be intoxicated. The caller observed Fattaruso drive away in a white Saturn.
Ptl. Dapuzzo responded to the area and located Fattaruso's vehicle on Barnegat Blvd in the Settlers Landing development where he observed Fattaruso cross over the double yellow line and leave his lane of travel.
Ptl. Dapuzzo's investigation at the scene led to Fattaruso's arrest. Fattaruso was also found to have a total of six outstanding arrest warrants out of Seaside Heights, Island Heights, and Manchester totaling $2,403.
Fattaruso was processed and issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and driving with a suspended driver's license.
He was turned over to the Seaside Heights Police Department who transported him to the Ocean County Jail where he was lodged in default of bail.
2/11/13
On January 31st, Detective Maryann Cirulli arrested Jake Rush, 21, of Manahawkin for 4th degree criminal attempt.
On January 29th at 1:15pm, officers had responded to a Deer Run Drive South residence after a neighbor reported seeing a male subject attempting to gain access to the residence via a locked rear window. The suspect was startled by the neighbor and fled the area prior to the officer's arrival.
As the result of an investigation, Rush was identified as a suspect. Further investigation by Detective Cirulli resulted in the development of probable cause to charge Rush.
Rush was processed and released on his own recognizance pending a court date.
2/5/13
On January 31st at 2pm, Ptl. Lauren Keilitz arrested Jamie Pfeiffer, 30, of Barnegat for DWI after responding to a report of an unresponsive motorist in a vehicle parked in the lot of the Walgreens on West Bay Ave.
An investigation at the scene revealed that Pfeiffer had operated her vehicle while under the influence. She was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center where she was treated before being processed and released on her own recognizance pending a court date.
1/29/13
On January 29th at approximately 2pm, Detective William Hetrick arrested Delovi Canales, Jr., 26, of Toms River in connection with the theft and use of a debit card.
Canales Jr. is alleged to have stolen a wallet from the parking lot of the Forked River House in Lacey Twp on January 18th. Canales then used a debit card from the stolen wallet at the Wawa located on Route 9 in Barnegat later that night.
Detective Hetrick was able to obtain pictures of the suspect from video surveillance footage recorded at the store. Several of the pictures of the suspect were posted on the Barnegat Police Facebook page at 3:30pm on January 24th.
Within two hours of the post, one of Barnegat Police's 2,000 Facebook fans identified the suspect in the photo as Canales Jr. and contacted the department through its Facebook page.
Canales Jr. was contacted by Detective Hetrick and turned himself in at the Barnegat Police station on January 29th where he was charged with 3rd degree computer criminal activity for illegally using the debit card in Barnegat Township. He was processed and released on his own recognizance pending a court date.
This marks the third time that the Barnegat Police Department has sought the assistance of the public in identifying a suspect through its Facebook page. In all three instances, fans of the page contacted the police department and identified the suspects within 24 hours of the initial post.
The Barnegat Police Department continues to be very grateful for the overwhelming support and assistance from the community.

On January 7th at approximately 9:40pm, Ptl. Joseph Stanziano arrested Heather Oneill-Deller, 34, and Edward Deller, 31, both of Barnegat, after an investigation into a burglary at Lefty's Tavern.
Officers responded to Lefty's in response to an alarm activation. After speaking with the owner it was determined that cash and property were stolen during the burglary. A review of surveillance video from the establishment resulted in Oneill-Deller being identified as a suspect.
After further investigation officers developed sufficient probable cause to have a warrant issued for Oneill-Deller.
Officers responded to Oneill-Deller's Emerald Drive address with a warrant for burglary. Officers conducted a search of the residence and located Oneill-Deller hiding inside of a clothes dryer.
Edward Deller, who was in the residence at the time, was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension.
Oneill-Deller was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $15,000 bail.
Deller was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $5,000 bail.

On December 27th at 4pm, members of the Barnegat Police Department Narcotics Unit arrested Phillip Shiner, 23, of Barnegat, Taylor Beers, 26, of Barnegat, and Ryan Territo, 21, of Waretown on drug charges after observing a drug transaction.
Officers were conducting a surveillance on Denville Street in response to reports of drug activity in the area when they observed Shiner purchase heroin from Beers and Territo.
Officers made contact with Shiner and attempted to place him under arrest at which point Shiner resisted arrest. During the time he was resisting the officer's control, Shiner ingested 10 bags of heroin.
Shiner, who was also found to be in possession of Flexeril, was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment and observation. He was served with complaints for possession of heroin (3rd degree), two counts of possession of prescription legend pills (4th degree), resisting arrest (4th degree), and tampering with evidence (4th degree).
Beers and Territo were both charged with possession of heroin (3rd degree), possession of heroin with intent to distribute (3rd degree), and distribution of heroin (3rd degree).
Beers was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $30,000 bail.
Territo was lodged in Ocean County Jail in default of $22,500 bail.

On January 14th at 3:47pm, Ptl. Andrew Parsley arrested Amanda Clayton, 22, Lisa Bauer, 43, and Frank Bauer Jr., 40, all of Barnegat.
Ptl. Parsley had responded to Lexington Blvd along with Sgt. Jason Carroll after receiving information that Clayton, who had multiple warrants for her arrest, was at a Lexington Blvd residence.
The officers were granted access to the residence and were advised by Lisa and Frank Bauer that Clayton was not present. Officers conducted a check of the residence with Lisa Bauer's permission.
While conducting the check, Sgt. Carroll discovered Clayton hiding in the attic.
Clayton was placed under arrest and was charged with obstructing the administration of law. She was released on her own recognizance after posting $550 bail.
Both Lisa and Frank Bauer Jr were charged with hindering apprehension. They were both released pending a court date.

On January 9th at 9:36pm, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Jennifer Holland, 33, of Manahawkin for possession of marijuana after stopping Holland's car on West Bay Avenue near 4th Street.
Ptl. Dapuzzo stopped Holland's car after a random Mobile Data Terminal inquiry indicated that Holland had a suspended driver's license.
During the course of the stop, PTl. Dapuzzo received consent to search Holland's vehicle. During the ensuing search, Ptl. Dapuzzo recovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Holland's passenger, Christopher Schlenger, 35, of Manahawkin was also arrested after a warrant check found him to have $4,422 in outstanding warrants out of Monmouth County for contempt of court.
Holland was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, and driving with a suspended driver's license. She was released on her own recognizance pending a court date.
Schlenger was lodged in the Monmouth County Jail in default of bail.

On January 10th at 7:10pm, Ptl. Brian Weber arrested Eric Finn, 43, of Manahawkin for disorderly conduct after responding to a report of an intoxicated male inside of a local business.
Ptl. Weber responded to the Foo Ho Chinese restaurant on Route 9 along with Ptl. Timothy Bradshaw after employees called to report that Finn was heavily intoxicated inside of the store and was harassing customers.
Finn was escorted from the establishment bythe officers and was subsequently arrested in the parking lot after exhibiting violent behavior.
While being processed at the police department, Finn attempted to assault Ptl. Richard Carr by attempting to strike him with a closed fist. Finn further threatened to kill the officers who were present and also spit on Ptl. Carr.
Finn was charged with disorderly conduct, aggravated assault on a police officer, terroristic threats, and throwing bodily fluids.
He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $37,500 bail.
Ptl. Carr was uninjured.

On January 13th at 3:05am, Ptl. Robert Armstrong arrested Justin Friedman, 27, of Manahawkin for DWI after stopping Friedman's vehicle on Route 9 for failing to maintain lane of travel.
During the arrest Friedman was also discovered to be in possession of cocaine.
Friedman was charged with possession of CDS, DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and failure to produce a valid insurance card.
He was released on his own recognizance pending a court date.
Friedman's vehicle was towed and impounded for 12 hours in accordance with John's Law.

On December 29th at 9:17pm, Ptl. Andrew Parsley arrested Craig Taryani, 39, of Barnegat for DWI after stopping Taryani for driving erratically on Schooner Avenue.
Further investigation revealed that Taryani had a suspended driver's license and that his license was suspended as the result of a previous DWI conviction. It was also learned that Taryani had previously been charged with driving with a suspended driver's license during a DWI imposed suspension period.
Taryani was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, and failure to maintain lane.
He was further charged criminally with 4th degree operating a motor vehicle during a period of license suspension.
Taryani was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $10,000 bail.
1/3/13
On December 27th at 10:15pm, Ptl. Robert Armstrong arrested a 17 year old Barnegat male for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
The juvenile's vehicle was stopped on Village Drive for operating with no headlights. During the stop, Ptl. Armstrong was granted consent to search the vehicle.
Ptl. Armstrong's K9 partner, Bullet, indicated the presence of drugs which were then recovered by Ptl. Armstrong.
Recovered were 19 individually wrapped bags of marijuana as well as 3 larger bags of marijuana with a total weight of nearly 90 grams. Drug paraphernalia was also recovered. (photo attached)
The juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to use headlights, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was released into the custody of his parents pending a juvenile court date.

On December 20th at 12:05am, Ptl. Nicholas Venuto arrested Heather Erb, 19, of Barnegat for DWI after responding to a report of a hit and run accident on Lexington Blvd.
Upon his arrival to the scene, Ptl. Venuto found Erb's 2001 Nissan Xterra in front of 79 Bowline Street with heavy front end damage.
An investigation revealed that Erb had been driving on Lexington Blvd where she struck two parked motor vehicles, an electrical box, and two mailboxes before leaving the scene.
Erb was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center where she was treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
She was charged with DWI, reckless, driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to wear seat belt, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident.

On December 17th at 10:00PM, Ptl. Jim Purcell arrested Kathy Bramin, 50, of Beach Haven for DWI after responding to Route 72 in the area of Brighton Road for a one car motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle. .
Upon arrival, Ptl. Purcell found that Bramin had already extricated herself from the vehicle.
Bramin was arrested and transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center by the Barnegat First Aid Squad. She was charged with DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane of travel.

On December 2nd at 6:44pm, Ptl. Timothy Bradshaw arrested Max Hogdon 3rd, 22, of Barnegat for DWI after observing Hogdon speeding and failing to yield for a stop sign on Bowline St.
During the course of the investigation, it was further determined that Hogdon had also struck a utility pole at the intersection of Bowline St and Commodore Ct.
During the arrest, Hogdon resisted officer control and was subsequently charged with resisting arrest.
Hogdon was processed and released with charges for resisting arrest, DWI, reckless driving, speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident.

On November 27th at 1:10am, Patrolman Robert Armstrong arrested Briana Ridgway, 19, of Forked River and Ryan Thornberry, 19, of Barnegat on drug charges after an investigation and K9 search lead to the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Ptl. Armstrong stopped the vehicle in which the two subjects were traveling West Bay Avenue after a random Motor Vehicle Computer inquiry showed that Ridgway had a suspended driver's license.
During the stop, Ptl. Armstrong detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. After a discussion with the two subjects, Ptl. Armstrong recovered a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia from them.
After being given consent to search the vehicle, Ptl. Armstrong's K9 partner, Bullet, indicated the presence of drugs in two locations inside of the vehicle. Both additional marijuana and drug paraphernalia was recovered in those locations.
Both subjects were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and Ridgway was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were processed and released on their own recognizance.

On November 24th 11:08pm, Ptl. George Martin arrested Corey Phillips, 18, of Barnegat for DWI after Phillips struck a parked car on Deer Run Drive South and fled the scene.
Based on a description of the vehicle provided by a witness, Ptl. Brian Weber located Phillips's vehicle parked on Laurel Lane, however, Phillips was not in the vehicle.
Approximately 30 minutes after the accident occurred, Ptl. Martin located Phillips walking in the area of Deer Run Drive South and placed him under arrest.
Phillips was processed and released with charges for DWI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, and failure to report a motor vehicle accident.
11/27/12
On November 21st at 5:30pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Richard Bowen Jr., 21, of Toms River after observing him commit offenses.
Narcotics Unit members were conducting an unrelated surveillance in the area of the Wawa on West Bay Avenue when they observed Bowen smoking a pill off of a piece of tin foil while seated in a vehicle. The officers also knew Bowen to have at least three warrants including one with $25,000 bail and two with no bail.
Officers arrested Bowen and during the subsequent contact found him to be in possession of quantities of oxycodone and heroin. He was also found to have a spring-loaded knife concealed in his waistband.
Bowen was charged with possession of oxycodone (3rd degree), possession of heroin (3rd degree), possession of a prohibited weapon (4th degree), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bowen was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of bail.
11/26/12
On November 10th at 3:30am, Ptl. Nicholas Venuto arrested Timothy Rhinehardt, 45, of Waretown for DWI after responding to the area of Lighthouse Drive for a report of an erratic driver.
Ptl. Venuto located the vehicle in question (operated by Rhinehardt) and observed several motor vehicle violations before stopping the vehicle on Barnegat Blvd near Ravenwood Blvd.
Rhinehardt was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, driving on private property to avoid a traffic control signal, and failure to signal a turn.

On November 19th at 6:30pm, Ptl. Richard Carr arrested Jessica Lathom, 31, of Barnegat for DWI after responding to a one car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Barnegat Blvd and Village Dr.
Upon arrival, Ptl. Carr found that Lathom's vehicle had left the roadway striking a mailbox and tree before coming to rest on the front lawn of 96 Barnegat Blvd. Ptl. Carr's investigation at the scene revealed that Lathom was under the influence of alcohol.
Lathom was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, unregistered vehicle, failure to maintain lane, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and failure to produce license, registration, and insurance card.
Lathom was uninjured in the accident.
11/19/12
Drew Miller, 24, of Egg Harbor was arrested in Egg Harbor on November 9th in connection with a shoplifting incident that occurred in Barnegat.
Barnegat officers responded to the CVS on West Bay Ave in Barnegat on November 6th at 8:15pm for a report of shoplifting.
Officers learned that a male subject (later identified as Miller) removed an iCraig tower stereo system valued at $70 from the store.
Barnegat Detective William Hetrick was able to secure a still photograph of the suspect from in store surveillance footage of the theft. Det. Hetrick released the still photograph of the suspect to area law enforcement agencies.
Egg Harbor officers had contact with Miller on an unrelated call on November 9th and recognized him from Det. Hetrick's photo bulletin. They took Miller into custody and turned him over to Barnegat officers.
Det Hetrick charged Miller with one count of shoplifting. Miller was processed and released on his own recognizance pending a court date.
11/12/12
On November 9th at 8:20pm, officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Barnegat High School where a football game between Barnegat and Red Bank was being played. Upon reaching the scene officers found the victim, an 18 year old male from Barnegat, had suffered a stab wound to his left bicep during a fight with a 17 year old Barnegat male. The confrontation had begun under bleachers at the game before both parties agreed to continue the fight on Bengal Blvd near the entrance to the school.
The accused fled the area prior to officer's arrival, however, officers were able to identify the accused with the help of the victim and witnesses.
At 9:40pm, Sgt. Jason Carroll observed the accused juvenile along with Kyle Greenhalgh, 18, of Barnegat, and a 16 year old male juvenile from Barnegat in the area of the Beverly Park on Beverly Drive in Barnegat. Upon identifying himself as a police officer and ordering the three to stop, the accused and Greenhalgh immediately fled on foot.
Sgt. Carroll pursued both subjects who ran towards the creek that runs behind Beverly park. As the two subjects separated, Sgt. Carroll continued to run down the accused in the stabbing. At the same time, Ptl. Christopher Ebert arrived on scene and immediately pursued Greenhalgh.
Sgt. Carroll was able to apprehend the accused in the creek a distance away from the park. Ptl. Ebert apprehended Greenhalgh on the banks of the creek.
Upon returning to the park, the officers found the 16 year old juvenile had remained but was intoxicated and was uncooperative with officers. During a protective pat down search of the 16 year old, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo located the knife used in the stabbing in the 16 year old's pocket. Ptl. Dapuzzo also found the 16 year old to be in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.
The 17 year old accused in the stabbing was charged with 2nd degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
Greenhalgh was charged with obstructing the administration of law and was released pending a court date.
The 16 year old juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and was released to a guardian.
The victim of the stabbing was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center before being transferred to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

On October 20th at 3:00am Ptl. Robert Armstrong arrested Michele Malacrida, 23, of Barnegat, NJ for DWI after responding to Ravenwood Blvd for a report of a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival to the scene, Ptl. Armstrong found that Malacrida had struck a parked vehicle as well as a curb in her 2007 Honda Accord. Malacrida was uninjured.
Malacrida was arrested, processed, and released after being issued summonses for DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and use of a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.

On October 25th at 8:47pm, Ptl. Robert Armstrong arrested Eugene Wills, 27, of Manahawkin, NJ for DWI after stopping Wills on Route 72 for speeding.
Wills was arrested, processed, and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, speeding (68 in a 55), using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle, and failure to notify MVC of an address change.

On October 26th at 3:38pm, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Edward Parkhill, 24, of Barnegat for possession of CDS and resising arrest after Parkhill ran from Ptl. Dapuzzo and was found to be in possession of CDS.
Ptl Dapuzzo observed Parkhill on Starboard Avenue and new him to have an outstanding arrest warrant out of Ocean Township for $582. Parkhill fled from Ptl. Dapuzzo on foot but was apprehended a short distance away. Parkhill was found to have both heroin and suboxone in his possession.
Parkhill was charged with possession of CDS and resisting arrest. Parkhill was released on his own recognizance pending a court date.

Evacuation Notice - Hurricane Sandy
Saturday, October 27, 2012 -- 2:00pm
The Township of Barnegat and the Township of Ocean have announced a voluntary evacuation of the following areas:
TOWNSHIP OF BARNEGAT
1. Areas along and north of Bayshore Drive including all lagoon streets, Pebble Beach section and Crosswinds.
2. Areas east of Lower Shore Road from East Bay Avenue to Barnegat/Stafford border. This would include both Mills and Powell Lanes to be evacuated.
TOWNSHIP OF OCEAN
1. All areas east of Main Street.
2. All areas east of Seventh Street.
3. Bay Parkway from State Route 9 to bay.
The voluntary evacuation is effective immediately. A mandatory evacuation will be in effect Sunday, October 28, 2012. All residents are advised to be out of the designated evacuation area by 6:00pm Sunday, October 28, 2011. At that time, access to the evacuation area will be restricted.
An emergency shelter for Barnegat and Ocean Township residents will be at the Brackman Middle School, located on Barnegat Boulevard North in Barnegat Township. There is plenty of parking on site. The shelter will open at NOON on Sunday, October 28, 2012.
Please contact the Barnegat Police Department at (609) 698-5000 or the Ocean Township Police Department at (609) 693-4007 if assistance is required to evacuate. All residents are urge to rush to completion preparation for the approaching storm by sunset on Sunday.

At 7:23pm on October 18th, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Christopher Fix, 41, of Manahawkin and Wendy Schoeneberg, 38, of Waretown on drug charges after observing a hand to hand transaction take place in the parking lot of the Wawa located at 945 West Bay Avenue.
The arresting officers were in the area on an unrelated matter when they observed the transaction take place. The subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of 42 decks of heroin, some of which Schoeneberg had just sold to Fix and others which Schoeneberg had retained in her possession.
Fix was charged with possession of heroin (3rd degree). Schoeneberg was charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute (all 3rd degree).
Both subjects were released on their own recognizance pending a court date.

On October 16th, Barnegat Police Detective William Hetrick arrested and charged Bryan Johnson, 24, of Manahawkin with two counts of theft (4th degree) in connection with the theft of five storm grates from the area of Mutineer Avenue and Four Mile Avenue in the Ocean Acres section of the township.
The grates were stolen on September 29th and October 11th. An investigation into the thefts determined that the grates had been sold to an area recycling business which led Detective Hetrick to Johnson.
Johnson was released on his own recognizance pending a court date.

Barnegat Police Detective Maryann Cirulli has charged three area residents with multiple charges stemming from the burglary of two seasonal residences located on Bayshore Drive in Barnegat and one seasonal residence in neighboring Waretown. The arrests were the result of a three-week joint investigation with the Ocean Township Police Department.
Arrested and charged between October 11th and October 15th were Anthony Brito 3rd, 19, of Forked River, Tyler Lecoque, 18, of Waretown, and Richard Tieto Jr., 20, of Waretown.
The Barnegat burglaries occurred at two seasonal Bayshore Drive residences on September 15th and September 18th. Over $11,000 in electronics and jewelry was stolen from one residence. The suspects did not get away with any property from the second residence as an audible security system resulted in them fleeing the home.
All three subjects were charged with two counts of burglary (3rd degree), theft (3rd degree) and criminal mischief.
Brito and Lecoque were lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $20,000 bail.
Tieto Jr was processed and released after posting bail.
The Ocean Township Police also signed complaints against all three subjects for the burglary that occurred in Waretown.

On October 9th at 7:00pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Maryann Vandevelde, 40, of Waretown on drug charges stemming from a motor vehicle stop conducted on Route 9.
During the stop, officers conducted a consent search of the vehicle which revealed heroin, Suboxone, and drug paraphernalia.
Vandevelde was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, distribution of heroin, possession of Suboxone (all 3rd degree), and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on her own recognizance pending a court date.
10/4/12
On October 3rd at 3:00pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Thomas Ragusa, 20, and a 17 year old male juvenile, both of Barnegat, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
The arrests stemmed from a motor vehicle stop that was conducted on a car that the juvenile was driving and in which Ragusa was a passenger.
Ragusa was processed and released with a summons for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
The juvenile was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and was additionally served with motor vehicle summonses for obstructed windshield and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle before being released to his father.
10/1/12
On September 29th at 12:05am, Sgt. Wayne Eslinger arrested a 15 year old male juvenile from Barnegat for shoplifting and possession of a handgun.
Earlier that evening, Ptl. Brian Weber had responded to the Wawa located on Route 9 and Bayshore Drive for a report of shoplifting. During that investigation, Ptl. Weber was able to identify the 15 year old Barnegat juvenile as a suspect after viewing security footage of the theft. The male juvenile fled the store prior to police arrival with six (6) packs of cigarettes which he had obtained by reaching over the counter. Officers conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the juvenile at that time.
At approximately midnight, Ptl. Weber, who was off-duty and on his way home after the completion of his shift, observed the suspect juvenile walking south on Barnegat Boulevard near the Atlantic Heights development and contacted Sgt. Eslinger.
Sgt. Eslinger was able to locate the juvenile in that area. Upon approaching the juvenile, Sgt. Eslinger observed him discard an object by throwing it towards the wood line. Sgt. Eslinger placed the juvenile under arrest for the earlier shoplifting incident and discovered that the object the juvenile had discarded was a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun.
The juvenile was also found in possession of several rounds of ammunition which he had in his pants pocket.
The juvenile was charged with shoplifting and unlawful possession of a handgun. He was transported to the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.
9/27/12
On September 26th at 2:15pm, Barnegat Police officers responded to a multi-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 9 and West Bay Avenue.
A 2004 Honda Civic operated by Mary Ross, 84, of Barnegat was traveling north on Route 9 when she made a left hand turn in front of a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was headed southbound on Route 9. The pickup truck was operated by Richard Calkins II, 31, of Little Egg Harbor.
Calkins's vehicle was forced off of the roadway by the impact and struck the Barnegat Antiques building at 349 South Main Street causing minor superficial damage to the building.
Ross's vehicle spun after the collision and struck a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu being operated by Kim McAllister, 63, of Manahawkin. McAllister's vehicle had been traveling northbound on Route 9 behind Ross's vehicle.
Ross, Calkins, and a 23 year old passenger from McAllister's vehicle were all transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center with minor injuries.
Ross was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
The building at 349 South Main Street was inspected by representatives of the Barnegat Construction Office and was found to be structurally sound. The building remained open and businesses were unaffected.
9/21/12
On 9/20/12 at 7:15pm Ptl. Keilitz arrested Shelli Ann Bono-Cadalzo on several outstanding Contempt of Court arrest warrants out of Barnegat Twp. and Jersey City totaling 1,500.00. Bono-Cadalzo was processed and released after posting bail.
On 9/13/12 Det. Michael Mitchell charged Scott Semchenko, 42, of Barnegat with 3rd degree charges of Theft, Obtaining by Fraud, and Possession of CDS after an investigation revealed Semchenko stole prescriptions from a vehicle on Barnegat Blvd. in early August. Semchenko was caught on surveillance passing the prescriptions at a township pharmacy on 8/11/12. On 9/17/12 Semchenko was arrested and released after posting 15,000.00 bail.
On 9/20/12 Det. Michael Mitchell charged a 17 year old township male with 3rd degree receiving stolen property. The juvenile was in possession of 760.00 worth of stolen aluminum forms that were stolen from a Nautilus Dr. job site sometime between 8/31/12 and 9/5/12. The juvenile was seen on surveillance, at a local recycling center, receiving money for the stolen forms on 9/4/12. The case is pending Juvenile Court proceedings.
9/20/12
On 9/19/12 at 9:51am 2 cars collided on Rt.9 at the intersection of Bayshore Dr. causing one vehicle to overturn. The occupants of the overturned vehicle were extricated and transported to SOMC for arm and shoulder injuries. The collision was a result of one operator turning left without yielding to oncoming traffic. That operator received a summons for Failing to Yield to Oncoming Traffic. Ptl. Julie Yakes is the investigating officer.
On 9/19/12 at 3:09pm Ptl. Alex Hoffman arrested Valerie Perez, 21, of Manahawkin on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the O.C. Sheriffs Dept. in the amount of 20,000.00 for Contempt of Court. Perez was unable to post bail and was lodged in the O.C. Jail.
9/19/12
On 9/14/12 Ptl. Parsley arrested a 17 year old township male for Criminal Mischief after the male threw a large rock, in the officers presence, at a vehicle parked on Mizzen Dr. damaging the windshield. The juvenile was processed and released to his mother pending legal proceedings. The windshield is valued at 250.00.
On 9/15/12 police arrested Todd Mcallister, 25, of Barnegat for Aggravated Assault after police discovered he was responsible for assaulting a 23 year old Tuckerton man on 9/14/12 inside of a Lexington Bl. home. The victim received medical attention at Southern Ocean Medical Center and suffered eye contusions and a facial fracture. Mcallister was lodged in the O.C. Jail in lieu of 50,000.00 bail.
On 9/18/12 Detective Cirulli arrested and charged Shea Pravlik, 26, of Barnegat with 3rd degree Theft after an investigation revealed Pravlik was responsible for stealing 970.00 worth of jewelry and currency from a home on Mediterranean Ct. Pravlik was released on a Complaint Summons.
9/6/12
On September 5th at 7:13pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested 16 and 17 year old male juveniles from Barnegat for drug related offenses.
The officers were conducting a surveillance in the area of the Crosswinds development on Bayshore Drive in response to citizen complaints of drug activity. During the surveillance, officers observed the 17 year old distribute marijuana to the 16 year old.
The 17 year old was charged with possession with intent to distribute under 1 ounce of marijuana, distribution of under 1 ounce of marijuana, and possession of marijuana under 50 grams. The 16 year old was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
Both juveniles were released to their parents pending juvenile court appearances.

On August 26th at 7:00pm, Ptl. Alex Hoffman arrested Vane Jackson, 25, of Willingboro, NJ for theft of a cell phone from the Genuardis store on West Bay Avenue.
Ptl. Hoffman responded to the store at 3:00pm after the victim, a 48 year old Barnegat resident, reported that her cell phone was stolen from a Genuardis grocery basket.
The victim had accidentally left the cell phone in the hand-held basket after checking out, but returned minutes later when she realized what she had done. She found the basket, but the cell phone had been removed.
Store employees described to the victim a customer who had just used the same self checkout register. The victim observed someone meeting that description (later identified as Jackson) in the parking lot and approached him asking if he had taken a phone. Jackson denied taking the phone and drove away.
Ptl. Hoffman reviewed video surveillance footage from the Genuardis which showed a male subject removing the cell phone from the basket and placing it in his pocket before exiting the store.
Later that evening, Ptl. Hoffman was on Lexington Blvd enroute to backup officers on an unrelated call when he observed a male subject that appeared to be the same subject he had observed in the video. Ptl. Hoffman spoke with the subject (later identified as Jackson) and through his investigation was able to determine that Jackson had taken the cell phone.
The cell phone was recovered from a Lexington Blvd residence and Jackson was placed under arrest.
Jackson was processed and released after being charged with theft.
The HTC cell phone, valued at $499, was returned to the victim.

On August 28th at 7:22pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Kevin McCutcheon, 22, of Lexington Blvd Barnegat on $6,500 in outstanding warrants issued by Toms River, Lakewood, and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.
Officers observed McCutcheon walking in the area of Lexington Blvd and knew him to have outstanding warrants. When officers approached McCutcheon, he provided officers with a false name and date of birth. Once he was told he was under arrest, he actively resisted arrest.
McCutcheon was charged with hindering apprehension and resisting arrest before being turned over to members of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department who transported McCutcheon to the Ocean County Jail where he was lodged in default of bail.

On August 25th at 9:16pm, Detective Michael Mitchell arrested Anthony Flores, 22, and Leah Stadtmauer, 19, both of Barnegat.
Detective Mitchell along with Detective Maryann Cirulli were on a Cops in Shops detail at the Spirits Unlimited on Route 9 in Barnegat when they observed Flores and Stadtmauer enter the store together. They further observed Flores purchase alcohol which Stadtmauer had selected.
Flores was charged with purchasing alcoholic beverages for a person underage. Stadtmauer was charged with having another person purchase alcoholic beverages for an underage person.
Both subjects were processed and released pending a court date.
The Cops in Shops detail is funded by a grant and involves placing undercover officers in establishments that sell alcohol with the purpose of stopping the illegal purchase of alcohol to underage subjects.
8/16/12
At 6:00am on August 16th, members of the Barnegat Police Department Narcotics Unit executed search warrants at both 61 and 99 Lexington Blvd. The warrants were the result of a two-month long investigation into the distribution of CDS.
Antwon Jackson, 31, Imeerah Peten, 20, and Ivory Cross, 23, all of Lexington Blvd were arrested as a result of a quantity of marijuana that was recovered from both residences. All three subjects were charged with possession of marijuana and were released pending a court date.
Assisting with the investigation and execution of the warrants were the Stafford Township Narcotics Unit, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, and K9 units from Barnegat Police Department, Stafford Police Department, and Little Egg Harbor Police Department.
8/13/12
On August 12th at 7:54pm, officers responded to a report of a structure fire at 10 Midship Drive.
Officers arrived on scene and found the lone resident had escaped the residence and was being assisted by neighbors.
Barnegat Fire Company personnel responded and extinguished the fire which damaged a significant portion of the single story residence.
The fire appears to have started as a grease fire in the kitchen of the residence.
Both the home owner and a neighbor who was attempting to assist in controlling the fire suffered smoke inhalation. The neighbor, a 19 year old female, was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment. The homeowner refused medical attention.

On August 1st at 11:35pm, Ptl. George Martin arrested Gregory Kraft, 22, of Barnegat for DWI after investigating a motor vehicle accident in which Kraft rear ended another vehicle on Route 9. There were no injuries associated with the accident.
Kraft was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, and following too closely.

On July 19th at 5pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Jonathon Decicco, 24, and Michael Monaco, 22, both of Barnegat on drug charges after observing a hand to hand drug transaction while conducting a surveillance in the area of Beacon Drive and Compass Lane.
After stopping the subjects, detectives recovered quantities of suboxone from both.
Decicco was charged with 3rd degree possession of suboxone and was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $20,000 bail.
Monaco was charged with possession of suboxone, possession of suboxone with intent to distribute, distribution of subuxone, and distribution of subuxone in a school zone (all 3rd degree offenses). Monaco was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $50,000 bail.

On July 10th at 7pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Nathan Hendricks, 34, of Whiting for possession of heroin.
Detectives observed Hendricks snorting heroin inside of a vehicle parked in the Wawa parking lot on West Bay Ave. Hendricks fled the area at a high rate of speed after being ordered to stop his vehicle.
Barnegat officers in the area were able to locate and stop Hendricks's vehicle at which time he was placed under arrest.
Hendricks was charged with 3rd degree possession of heroin and 4th degree resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $20,000 bail.

On July 26th at 5:37pm, Ptl. Brian Weber arrested Vivian Whyte, 58, of Westville Grove, NJ for DWI after motorists reported her vehicle being operated in a reckless manner.
Ptl. Weber located Whyte's vehicle in the Genuardi's parking lot on West Bay Ave. Whyte was processed and released with summonses for DWI and reckless driving.

On June 21st members of the Barnegat Police Investigative Division arrested Stephanie Hood, 30, of Tuckerton, Richard Allen, 34, of Barnegat, and Carey Mayo, 29, of Barnegat on drug related charges.
Officers approached the involved parties after they observed a hand to hand drug transaction occur in the area of the Gunning River Plaza on West Bay Avenue. Their investigation revealed that both Hood and Allen were in possession of oxycodone with the intent to distribute same.
Hood and Allen were charged with possession of oxycodone, possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, distribution of oxycodone, and distribution of oxycodone within 1,000 feet of a school (all 3rd degree offenses).
Mayo was charged with 3rd degree conspiracy to possess oxycodone.
All three subjects were released on their own recognizance pending a court date.
7/18/12
On July 7th at 7:00pm, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested 15 year old and 17 year old male juveniles for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ptl. Dapuzzo responded along with Ptl. Richard Carr to a fight call on Mast Drive involving multiple subjects.
During the course of the investigation, Ptl. Dapuzzo discovered that two of the juveniles were in possession of marijuana and placed them under arrest.
Both juveniles were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia and were released to their parents.

On July 14th at 2:41am, Ptl. Robet Armstrong arrested Scott Conklin, 20, of Barnegat for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Ptl. Armstrong stopped Conklin's vehicle after observing it parked in the lot of the Russel O. Brackman school. Ptl. Armtrong conducted a consent search of the vehicle using his K9 partner, Bullet.
Bullet indicated the presence of CDS in the vehicle which led to the discovery of marijuana and paraphernalia concealed within the vehicle.
Conklin was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance.

On July 15th at 2:19pm, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Michelle Ciani, 47, of Barnegat after investigating a hit and run accident on Bayside Avenue.
Ptl. Dapuzzo responded to the area after reports that a vehicle operated by Ciani struck a parked car in front of 32 Bayside Avenue. The investigation showed that Ciani's vehicle was involved in the collision and that she was operating it at the time while impaired due to alcohol. Ciani was located at her Bayside Ave residence and placed under arrest.
Cianni was charged with DWI, failure to submit breath sample, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident.
She was released on her own recognizance pending a court date.
7/10/12
On June 22, 2012 at 1:12am, Ptl. Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Mark Getchell, 45, of Lanoka Harbor for DWI after stopping Getchell's vehicle on Route 9 for failing to maintain lane of travel and speeding.
Getchell was charged with DWI, failure to submit breath samples, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, speeding, and open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
He was processed and released pending a court date.

On June 29th at 12:43am, Ptl. Richard Carr arrested Ryan Thau, 28, of Barnegat for forgery and theft by deception after Thau was found to have passed several counterfeit $20 bills at area convenience stores.
Thau used the counterfeit bills to pay for merchandise at Wawa stores on both West Bay Avenue and Route 9 in Barnegat.
Thau was charged with 6 counts of 3rd degree forgery and one count of theft by deception.
He was lodged in the Ocean County Jail in default of $30,000 bail.
