On March 8th at 3:45pm, Ptl. Christopher Ebert arrested William Horstmann, 52, of Barnegat for DWI after responding to a report of a male subject driving intoxicated.
Ptl. Ebert had been advised that a caller reported via 911 that a male subject had been consuming alcoholic beverages at the Barnegat Dock and had appeared to be intoxicated before entering a green 1995 Jeep Cherokee and driving from the area.
Ptl. Ebert located the Jeep on West Bay Avenue and was able to stop the vehicle on Ocean Avenue.
As a result of the stop Horstmann was placed under arrest for DWI. Horstmann’s vehicle was impounded for 12 hours in accordance with John’s Law.
Horstmann was processed and released with summonses for DWI and reckless driving.
